Awarding of Poetry Awards "Jean Moréas" for the year 2019

This annual event will be held digitally at one session of the PWPF Poetry Event 2020, with a presentation of the award-winning poets and recitations by them. This is the annual event during which the "Jean Moréas" Prizes are awarded for Greek poetic art and Greek poetic production in its entire range. They are recognizable nationwide and concern the poetry collections that were published throughout the previous calendar year from the year of the award. They refer both to young poets and newcomers and to those who are recognized with their poetic work along time.

The event is highly appreciated by the Greek literary and artistic circle of readers. In this year's event, in addition to the institutionalized awards, a very important foreign poet will be honored, who with his/her lifelong work honors the literature outside Greece. The Award Committee is composed of Greek University professors, as well as very important poets and poetry critics who will evaluate the work of the honorees.

The hidden sheep

My name fell into the garbage
I will get dirty to find it
to look like Maria again

Six times the writing
Six times you denied me
Any way

The sun is divided
right in two
The one won't have it
The liar calls himself righteous

It withers as the night falls
I can't find a word to hang to
The roads are hot
Distant bells
Come closer ring
fade away
A dim light rises
into the room light
of a fable shines
A spineless turbulence disrespects
The fable

I wanted to stay longer by you
in sickness and in health
I have been watching for days
a calm sky
I want for it to fall

Inside a wheelchair boat

Along with the favorite shapes
of the trees

They become one with the fragile
dirt molded with tender
causes to the wind inside
useless stones I invoke
warm afternoons and
suspicious ashes

In time-eating times

And suddenly an inglorious ball

The marrow of poetry
Extracted from the bones
inexplicably prophetic
and punishable from the start

To apologize

To the two veils with pure silk
Each one that was falling gently
and then was lost
into the dirty mouth of the floor

In that slaughter
with sealed lips
I agreed

Εmbalmed at the window since then

At Christmas they put
little lamps and at Easter
an egg on the top of her head.
She has a button that makes a
Laughing sound. They change
her batteries too. The children
laugh and the adults too.
A stray dog

does not.

When the night falls she escapes
She locks the cage carefully
and leaves

She wonders what she has forgotten
She locks away and leaves
Maybe the light is on
Maybe the door is open
Maybe the day after today
Maybe the hidden sheep with its grass
but she locks away and leaves
every night she locks away
and leaves

Repetition, infallible mother of mistakes

Dirty flies nest
On the exit of the door
There is an envious silence

The dust on the forehead like a jewel
Boasts new clean
look at me

Raw footage
of inexplicable value

My treasure

I empty the garbage wherever they may go
Along with the kindness that I was holding them with

Everywhere night comes down hardly

behind an overweight word

There is no silence in this cage
Dust roams, a wind
Old voices poorly painted scratches
Glances down dreams hang
Squash of talks that left
They think I am not there
