This annual event will be held digitally at one session of the PWPF Poetry Event 2020, with a presentation of the award-winning poets and recitations by them. This is the annual event during which the "Jean Moréas" Prizes are awarded for Greek poetic art and Greek poetic production in its entire range. They are recognizable nationwide and concern the poetry collections that were published throughout the previous calendar year from the year of the award. They refer both to young poets and newcomers and to those who are recognized with their poetic work along time.

The event is highly appreciated by the Greek literary and artistic circle of readers. In this year's event, in addition to the institutionalized awards, a very important foreign poet will be honored, who with his/her lifelong work honors the literature outside Greece. The Award Committee is composed of Greek University professors, as well as very important poets and poetry critics who will evaluate the work of the honorees.

The Poems

The house grew on the rock.
Aged it was bent to the bone
one night when it blew
from his father's generation.

For years the floor was solid
but now invisibly expands
as the wood is swollen with oblivion.
In the apnea of the deep
half-closed windows sink
the gaze once stabbing
in adolescent memory.

The mother laid the clothes in the void
and then spread wings to catch them.
We often searched for her for days
after she had dyed her cloud white.

The crack of the boards grew larger
the father slipped quietly into the night.
The hours were buzzing like a hungry bee.
Now weed silence the walls
is tanning.

Only the grandmother in the corner
                                    lies awake
to offer to the winds
the almond-shaped tales of youth.

* * *

Banished the body from your land
thinks of distant places to roam
tramp sun drying your wound
and thou with the sea refilling it.

In the nights you will tread in wild silence
the inconsolable wind blowing
in the days you will seek unripe gold
to wear on your skin to burn you.

On paths you will carve your cliff
you'll dig rocks with your gaze full of lava
you'll be late. May your return not come near.
And the sails forgotten black again.

The rain breaks the glass and scratches you.
You're thrown into the wave. Αcross the way dawns
