II.
the tombs never appeared to me
so white
never the cypresses
so mournful.
shadows bathed in the moonlight
behind sunken eyes.
in the land of ghosts
the shadows of the night
are feeding on the flesh of utopia.
in the waters of oblivion
baptized wreath
around the neck
just before it tightens in a loop.
as if the whole city is
full of dogs yelling together.
just before the fire embraced the tear gas

looks that did not burn out their fire
in the street storm
are enough material for dreams

II.
ποτέ οι τάφοι δεν μου φάνηκαν
τόσο άσπροι
ποτέ τα κυπαρίσσια
τόσο πένθιμα
ίσκιοι που λούζονται στο φεγγαρόφως
πίσω από μάτια βουλιαγμένα
στη γη των φαντασμάτων
οι σκιές της νύχτας
τρέφονται με σάρκες ουτοπίας
στα νερά της λήθης
βαφτισμένο στεφάνι
γύρω από τον λαιμό
λίγο πριν σφίξει σε θηλιά
σαν ολόκληρη η πόλη να είναι
γεμάτη σκυλιά π' ουρλιάζουν μαζί
λίγο πριν η φωτιά αγκαλιάσει τα δακρυγόνα

βλέμματα που δεν έσβησαν τη φωτιά τους
στη θύελλα των δρόμων
αποτελούν αρκετό υλικό για όνειρα

hungry nights are crawling
on the floor of loneliness
cutting the death into slices.
she, alone at the funeral
in a coffin full of carnations
like the first buds of Spring
blooding on the sidewalk.
the scars of freedom by the stonemasons
remained embossed
as antidote to oblivion

as we sculpt the flame
in the candle of memory
the dead stay alive

[1] Helin Bölek was the singer of the Turkish band Grup Yorum, died on 4 April 2020, at the age of 28, after 288 days of hunger strike. She was protesting against the practices of the Turkish authorities, the abduction and imprisonment of members of the band. The members of the group were for years on the famous "gray list" of the government, characterized as "supporters of terrorist organizations".

                                                  Στη Χελίν Μπολέκ [1]
νύχτες νηστικές σέρνονται
στο πάτωμα της μοναξιάς
κόβοντας τον θάνατο σε φέτες
μόνη στην κηδεία
σε φέρετρο γεμάτο γαρύφαλλα
σαν τα πρώτα μπουμπούκια της Άνοιξης
που ματώνουν στο πεζοδρόμιο
ανάγλυφες μείναν οι ουλές
των λιθοξόων της ελευθερίας
αντίδοτο στη λήθη

όσο σμιλεύουμε τη φλόγα
στο καντήλι της μνήμης
οι νεκροί μένουν ζωντανοί

[1] Η Τουρκάλα Helin Bölek, τραγουδίστρια του προοδευτικού συγκροτήματος Grup Yorum, πέθανε στις 3/4/2020, σε ηλικία 28 ετών, μετά από 288 μέρες απεργίας πείνας διαμαρτυρόμενη για τις πρακτικές των τουρκικών αρχών, τις απαγωγές και τις φυλακίσεις μελών του συγκροτήματος. Τα μέλη του συγκροτήματος βρίσκονταν από χρόνια στην περίφημη «γκρίζα λίστα» της κυβέρνησης, χαρακτηρισμένοι ως «υποστηρικτές τρομοκρατικών οργανώσεων».

The Poet

Dimos Chloptsioudis lives in Thessaloniki. He is MA of Creative Writing and poet. He writes essays and poetry reviews, following the new trends in Art. His reviews are published on websites (culturebook.gr, tvxs.gr, tovivlio.net and elsewhere) and in literary magazines (Mandragoras, Eneken, Sisyphus and others). He has participated in many literary activities and his poems have been published on websites and literary magazines. He teaches Creative Writing to students and adults and he was a active member of the «come with a poem» action to celebrate World Poetry Day in Western Thessaloniki and the inspirer of the «poetic bookstand» action. However, he promotes all his other activities, his teaching presence (Creative Writing) in the Second Chance School of Diavata prison. He has published 4 poetry collections.

Ο Δήμος Χλωπτσιούδης ζει στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Είναι MA Δημιουργικής Γραφής και ποιητής. Γράφει δοκίμια και κριτικές ποίησης, παρακολουθώντας τις νέες τάσεις στην Τέχνη. Κριτικές του φιλοξενούνται στις ηλεκτρονικές σελίδες culturebook.gr, tvxs.gr, τοβιβλίο.net και αλλού. Μελέτες του και δοκίμια δημοσιεύονται στα περιοδικά Μανδραγόρας, 'Ενεκεν, ο Σίσυφος κ.α. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλές λογοτεχνικές δράσεις και έχουν δημοσιευθεί ποιήματά του σε ιστοσελίδες και λογοτεχνικά περιοδικά. Διδάσκει Δημιουργική Γραφή σε μαθητές κι ενήλικες και αποτέλεσε βασικό μέλος της δράσης «ελάτε με ένα ποίημα» για τον εορτασμό της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Ποίησης στη Δυτική Θεσσαλονίκη και εμπνευστής των δράσεων «ποιητικό αναλόγιο». Ωστόσο, προάγει όλων των άλλων συμμετοχών του, τη διδακτική του παρουσία (Δημιουργική Γραφή) στο Σχολείο Δεύτερης Ευκαιρίας των φυλακών Διαβατών. Έχουν εκδώσει 4 ποιητικές συλλογές.
